Nearly 3% of the U.S. population has gone vegan for their new way of life. This growing trend is becoming more prevalent in households everywhere as people make the plant based switch. Some may think that vegan means less flavor but many are discovering that notion to be a myth. In celebration of November being World Vegan Month, let’s highlight a DMV vegan favorite known as Chef Damian Brown of The Uncaged Chefs.
Celebrity Chef, Damian Brown, is placing his signature uncaged stamp on some of your favorite vegan meal options with Vegan Soul Mondays. His restaurant brand of The Uncaged Chefs provides exotic menu offerings using premium ingredients, flavor pairings and more. His vegan meals are now a local favorite that bring about thousands of customers each week; along with many other dishes.
“Everyone is trying to be more health conscious right now so vegan meal options are a healthy trend,” says Chef Damian Brown. “Our BBQ vegan burger with onion rings and baked beans is one of my current restaurant favorites,” says Chef . Damian offers a wide variety of vegan choices but the Jerk Burger and Trick Mac are top vegan sellers at The Uncaged Chef restaurant.
Food substitution is the vital part to vegan cooking. Chef Brown uses wheat gluten as a meat substitute for many of his dishes. Vegan Soul Mondays is not a new concept for Chef Damian Brown either. “My first restaurant was supposed to be solely vegan, so Vegan Soul Mondays is my way of stepping back into my original concept,” explains Chef.
