Resilience is in the eye of the beholder. Many have overcome obstacles that they thought would be difficult to escape. Tiffany Cartwright is a mother who faced some professional challenges that led to her starting her own beauty business known as Amarra Beauty Products. Tiffany Cartwright began her criminal justice career as a former Assistant Attorney General and former Administrative Law Judge for the State of Michigan.

She was laid off due to budget cuts in 2012. She returned to the bench in 2015 but was again, released from her job in 2016. “I went from University of Michigan Law School, Assistant Attorney General and Administrative Law Judge to unemployed with no health insurance, no money and a bridge card. I lost everything!” says Cartwright.

This turmoil would have caused many to crumble yet Tiffany persevered. She turned her focus towards her family. Her daughter suffered from eczema and Tiffany would make all-natural body scrubs to aid in her skin ailments. She would even gift the homemade products to loved ones for holiday gifts. Her sudden unemployment caused her to make a pivotal decision that led to her owning a small business.

Tiffany took her homemade products to develop her own beauty brand known as Amarra Beauty Products. Her signature brand houses her luxurious and all natural products for all skincare needs. Her new and premiere body scrub line features the new G.L.A.M. body scrub items as well. All products feature natural items such as brown sugar, lavender, peppermint and much more. “This is truly a dream come true!” says Cartwright.

Tiffany continued to strive for greatness beyond her business launch. At an annual initiative targeting products made in the U.S. Tiffany successfully pitched her products at a 2018 Walmart Open Call. Mixed with all natural ingredients, these products have now graced select shelves at Walmart stores across the country. “When my buyer said yes, I literally cried. They had no idea what I went through just to get there,” Cartwright shares. Tiffany Cartwright is also a certified minority and women owned small business.
